* PA Fragments are awarded to players for completing [[Free missions|free]] and [[Co-op missions|co-op missions]] on difficulties S, S2 and S3 with a grade of S.  [[Rare free missions|Rare missions]] award PA Fragments for receiving a grade of S on all difficulties.
* You can receive a reward of 10 PA Fragments by completing the trial of each [[Story missions|story mission]] on difficulty level A with a grade of S. This works only once per trial and character, as any subsequent S ranks will reward only Meseta and mission points.
* This item is available at the price of 1 [[Gold W. Badge]] for 3 PA fragments from [[Gifts from Beyond (permanent mission)|Gifts from Beyond]] after the conclusion of the [[Maximum Attack G (event)|Maximum Attack G]] event.
* This item is available at the price of 1 [[Zonsphere]] from [[Thunderfest Deals]] after the conclusion of the [[Winter Mission Carnival]] event.
* This item is available at the price of 1 [[Megisphere]] from [[Dark Crystal Seeker (permanent mission)|Dark Crystal Seeker]] after the conclusion of the [[Shred the Darkness]] event.
* This item is available at the price of 1 ([[Raysphere]]) from ([[Ice Crystal Exchange (permanent mission)|Ice Crystal Exchange]]) after the conclusion of the ([[Absolute Zero]]) event.
* PA Fragments cannot be dropped, sold in [[Player shops|player shops]] or traded to other players.  However, they can be transferred to other characters on the same account via the [[Common box|common box]] in [[Your room|your room]].
* These items are used to exchange for [[Photon arts|photon arts]] in the following missions:

** [[TECHNIC License]]
* The original Japanese description of this item reads ''"A data disk fragment of the strongest photon arts said to be usable by only a select few.  If you collect a lot of these, the data can be reconstructed."''  It is unknown why the localized description is so far off.
